To enroll in health insurance for 2025, you need to sign up during the annual open enrollment period (Friday, November 1, 2024 to Sunday, December 15, 2024.). During open enrollment you can make changes to your current plan.

Outside of that time, you can qualify for Special Enrollment Period with “qualifying life events.” Some of these events include marriage, having a baby, divorce, income change, loss of employment, new dependents, or moving to a new area. You will have to prove that you had a qualifying life event and then find health insurance within a certain window of time.

If you are currently enrolled in a marketplace health care plan, it may automatically renew. If your health care provider makes any changes to your coverage, such as copays, drug coverage, and more, you will be notified before the enrollment period.
